Dear All

First and foremost, I hope you and your family are well.

Elements Physiotherapy at Saunton Sands Hotel will be re-opening on 8th July.

Private Physiotherapy practices were permitted to return to work from last month but guidelines from our professional body the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) have taken some to time to be constructed.
As you will expect to reopen there will a number of changes to the way I practice to mitigate risks of infection spread.
Factors in place for your safety:
  • Whilst waiting, you will be asked to maintain social distancing in a sensible way – you can utilise Reception area, The Gallery and Entrance area;

  • All patients will have to pass a COVID screening (infrared temperature check on site) prior to treatment sessions

  • Spaced appointments: time increased between appointments for cleaning and airing the room

  • Contact: Treatment positions will be adapted to ensure there is spacing of face to face distance where possible

  • Duration of hands-on treatment: Hands on treatment will be limited to 15 minutes maximum, required by the CSP to ensure all patients are under the threshold for triggering contact tracing action.

  •  All patients will need to complete phone or email consent 24-48 hours prior to attending their appointment to confirm consent for this risk. This will including confirming you have no current COIVD19 risk

  • There will be no charge for cancellations, even on the day of your appointment, if you feel your status may have changed.

Realistically this means the focus of the sessions are diagnosis and concise treatment.
All management plans will be completed electronically with ongoing discussions via email so please consider this component as part of your session.
It is worth saying that all the video consultations I have completed over the last 12 weeks have shown good results and I do think they will have a permanent place in practice for remote advice and follow ups to reduce travel times.
It goes without saying that if any patients retrospectively develop COVID symptoms I would ask them to inform me and would let my current cohort of patients know directly.
Any other questions can be directed to me via text or email. I am open to suggestions / enquiries.
Please contact me via email / phone for bookings in advance, contact details are below.
Stay active and stay happy!
Lucy

My practice ethos is to ensure return to activity for all ages.

It is important to ensure early and accurate diagnosis. I’m a hands on Physiotherapist and offer release work, mobilisation and dry needling with the aim to return to normal function and exercise level. The key to successful results is education on injury management and tips on self-management.
